The Roby Dost Project is a befriending/mentoring scheme that aims to help people with severe and enduring mental health conditions to try new things and access new opportunities in their local community. It involves being matched with a Roby volunteer who has lived experience of mental health difficulties and is sufficiently recovered to be able to offer support to others. Our volunteers provide ongoing practical and emotional support on a weekly basis for a period of up to six months. Community Support is designed to be flexible and is tailored to meet individual’s needs. Some examples of support that volunteers provide include: building confidence, sourcing information, linking people into groups and activities, orientation for people who are new to Manchester and helping to apply for education or employment. |
